I started to learn programming in the late 1990's. It began with my father recommending a simple text editor, and giving me one valuable piece of advice: "Never use a WYSIWYG." He taught me that it was much better to learn the underlying code and how everything works instead of taking shortcuts, and that's served me well throughout my career.
I attended DeVry University in 1999 and shortly after started my first job at a local agency. Since then I have started successful businesses, helped other businesses grow exponentially, and worked on some pretty cool projects over the years.
I've helped start-ups grow into multi-million dollar companies, and worked with well established companies like Turner Broadcasting Systems and the NCAA. I've created programs used by professional sporting leagues including the NFL, NBA, MLB, and NHL. I've created or contributed to a variety of systems including professional lottery systems, health care related mobile apps, crowdfunding systems, e-Learning, social networking, e-commerce systems within many different industries, and a whole lot more.
When I'm away from the computer, I enjoy baseball, video games, traveling, trying new foods, and margaritas. I'm also a sucker for cats.
